Product Info

This 5-day heritage tour from Delhi combines some of North and Central India’s most historically significant destinations through a journey covering Agra, Orchha and Khajuraho. The itinerary is designed for travelers interested in Mughal architecture, medieval kingdoms, temple heritage and cultural history while traveling comfortably by private vehicle.

The journey begins in Agra, home to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, two of India’s most important Mughal landmarks. Visit the Taj Mahal, the white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal and recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Continue to Agra Fort, the former Mughal residence known for its audience halls, royal courtyards and red sandstone architecture. The itinerary also includes Mehtab Bagh, a riverside garden offering views of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River, especially during sunset hours.

From Agra, continue toward Orchha, a historic town located on the banks of the Betwa River in Madhya Pradesh. Once the capital of the Bundela dynasty, Orchha is known for its palaces, temples and cenotaphs reflecting Rajput architecture and regional history. Explore the Orchha Fort Complex, Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal, all known for their courtyards, murals and royal structures. Visit Chaturbhuj Temple and the riverside cenotaphs that add to the town’s historic atmosphere.

The journey then continues to Khajuraho, home to one of India’s most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Built by the Chandela dynasty between the 9th and 12th centuries, the Khajuraho temple complex is known for detailed stone carvings, temple sculptures and architectural craftsmanship. Explore the Western and Eastern Group of Temples while learning about their artistic, religious and cultural significance.

The itinerary also allows time for local experiences including village walks, market visits and optional sightseeing to Raneh Falls or the Adivart Tribal Museum near Khajuraho. Raneh Falls is known for its volcanic rock canyon formations and seasonal waterfalls, while the tribal museum highlights the culture and traditions of regional tribal communities.

Combining Mughal monuments, Rajput heritage, temple architecture and cultural landscapes, this itinerary offers a well-rounded journey through some of India’s most remarkable historical destinations.
