Product Info

  • This introductory course allows you to experience the pottery process through three lessons covering clay selection, shaping, trimming, and glazing. Experienced participants can use the electric potter's wheel to realize the basics and fun of pottery. *It takes about 1 to 2 months for the works to be completed.
  • A 3-session plan to learn the basics of pottery!
  • To ensure you experience the charm and depth of pottery even in a trial, you will complete your work over three sessions: shaping, trimming, and glazing. Beginners can make two items, such as tea cups or bowls (experienced participants can choose to make other vessels). This trial plan is unique in that it allows you to experience the entire pottery process from clay selection to glazing. Don't worry if you do not know what to make. Our experienced instructors will support you from clay selection so that you can complete a piece entirely on your own.
  • Experience the fun of pottery with abundant materials and a diverse team of instructors!
  • With 20 types of clay, 30 types of glaze, 12 electric potter's wheels, and 2 electric kilns, you can challenge yourself to create various works from selecting the clay to shaping. Our instructors include Takahisa Omatsu (a full member of the Japan Kogei Association), who pursued pottery after a 20-year career as a salaryman; Masayoshi Ichikawa, the 4th generation of the Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki 'Kyo-zan Kiln'; and Keiko Omatsu, who utilizes all-around techniques from hand-building to the wheel. In spring and autumn, we also offer firing in a climbing kiln located in the nature-rich countryside.
  • A 5-minute walk from Hankyu Tsukaguchi Station! A convenient location for commuting.
  • The classroom is located just a short walk from Hankyu Railway 'Tsukaguchi' Station, and many students commute from Takarazuka, Amagasaki, Nishinomiya, Ashiya, Itami, and Osaka City. Our experienced instructors teach carefully, making the class popular with a wide range of generations from juniors (9 years old and up) to seniors. With a variety of materials and well-equipped facilities, this is a classroom where both beginners and experienced potters can thoroughly learn the fun and depth of pottery.
