When wearing a KIMONO from KITAYA Koiso and using public transportation, we recommend walking with small steps and avoiding large strides or running. When getting on or off vehicles, be mindful of the KIMONO's hem and gently lift it to prevent stepping on it or getting it dirty. When sitting down, please gently smooth the back hem of the KIMONO to avoid friction or pressure, and choose seats that are less likely to snag clothing to maintain the neatness and integrity of your attire.
When wearing a KITAYA Koiso KIMONO, before sitting down, you should arrange the hem of the KIMONO, gently gathering it in front of you to prevent it from spreading too wide. Your sitting posture should be elegant, with your knees together, and avoid crossing your legs. When walking, it's recommended to take small steps and avoid taking large strides. When going up or down stairs, you can slightly lift the hem of the KIMONO to maintain balance and prevent tripping, while also showcasing the graceful demeanor of the KIMONO.
In the KITAYA Koiso KIMONO experience, a KIMONO is typically composed of multiple layers of clothing, with a heavier material, worn with tabi socks and geta sandals. It's more formal and emphasizes details, suitable for more solemn occasions or when showcasing traditional aesthetics. A YUKATA, on the other hand, is usually a single layer of cotton fabric, lighter and more breathable, worn without tabi socks. It's more casual and relaxed, often worn during summer festivals or at hot spring inns.
To maintain the straight and elegant lines of the KIMONO during a KITAYA Koiso experience, it's traditionally recommended to wear wireless or comfortable underwear. In some cases, a special KIMONO undergarment might be used to smooth the silhouette, creating a flat chest line. This allows the KIMONO to lie flatter and fit more smoothly, while also avoiding the pressure from underwire and enhancing overall comfort.
If you feel uncomfortable during a KITAYA Koiso KIMONO experience, it might be due to the obi sash or the way it's worn. You can try taking slow, deep breaths and avoid excessive bending or large movements. If there's noticeable pressure, you can slightly adjust your posture or seek assistance from our staff. They can provide professional adjustments to ensure your comfort, allowing you to enjoy the KIMONO experience more freely.
When visiting Hokkaido Jingu Shrine, you can experience the traditional Japanese prayer method of 'two bows, two claps, and one bow.' It's recommended to prepare a 'lucky' five-yen coin as an offering. After placing it in the offering box, bow twice, clap twice, and pray with your hands clasped, then bow once more. The serene atmosphere where solemnity blends with nature within the shrine allows you to feel the profound Japanese culture while praying for peace and good fortune.
Shiroi Koibito Park is not only famous for its signature sweets but also boasts many distinctive attractions within its grounds. You can stroll through the European-style gardens, admire seasonal flowers and exquisite architecture, and soak in a sweet, romantic ambiance. Additionally, the park offers an experience to make your own Shiroi Koibito cookies, as well as an exhibition of antique European collections, providing diverse sightseeing enjoyment alongside delicious treats.
Nakajima Park has distinct seasons, with each presenting unique scenery. In spring, you can admire the cherry blossoms in full bloom and enjoy the pleasant lakeside views. Summer brings lush greenery, making it a great place for walks and boating. In autumn, the park's maple leaves turn golden or fiery red, creating a picturesque landscape. In winter, it's covered in pristine white snow, presenting a silver world, and the frozen lake surface offers a tranquil northern charm.
