Masataka Taketsuru, known as the 'Father of Japanese Whisky,' traveled to Scotland in 1918 to pursue his dream of producing whisky in Japan. He firmly believed that to create an authentic whisky comparable to or even better than Scotch, the prerequisite was to manufacture it in a natural environment similar to Scotland. After returning to Japan in 1920, Taketsuru actively searched for an ideal location for malt whisky production, finally finding Yoichi in southwestern Hokkaido, where the soil, natural climate, and humidity are very similar to Scotland. In 1934, Taketsuru founded his own brand, NIKKA WHISKY, and established the first distillery in Yoichi.

Guests who wish to experience fruit picking must pay on-site; please bring cash in advance. The cost is approximately 2,000-3,000 JPY depending on the plan and the orchard's current offerings. Those who do not pay may purchase seasonal fruits at the orchard's gift shop without entering the farm.
Guests who wish to add the Blue Cave cruise experience on-site must pay at their own expense; please bring cash in advance. The cost is approximately 12,000-15,000 JPY. Please be aware that same-day bookings may be fully booked, and if the reservation is unsuccessful, please understand in advance.
