Wave Rock is a stunning natural granite formation, approximately 15 meters high and 110 meters long, resembling a giant ocean wave about to break. Its distinctive shape was formed over millions of years by sub-surface erosion and chemical weathering, carving the rock's base, followed by erosion from water runoff. The rock's unique vertical stripes are created by various minerals, including red and yellow algae, which contribute to its striking appearance.
A day trip to Wave Rock offers a diverse experience, combining unique natural landscapes with historical insights. Visitors can marvel at the impressive Wave Rock itself, explore the fascinating Hippo's Yawn rock formation, and delve into the Aboriginal heritage at Mulka's Cave. The journey also includes a stop at York Town, Western Australia's first inland town, where you can experience its charming historic streetscape. This comprehensive tour provides a blend of natural wonders, culture, and history, enhanced by comfortable transportation and a knowledgeable guide.
