'130th Anniversary NAKED Yorumairi 2025-26 Heian Jingu Shrine'

Celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the new one at Heian Jingu Shrine, wrapped in fantastic light.

NAKED Yorumairi Heian Jingu Shrine is a nighttime worship event held to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the shrine's founding, offering a chance to encounter the mystical side of Heian Jingu. This is not just a light-up event, but a new form of cultural experience themed around 'prayer,' providing a space for visitors to spend their time at the shrine at night in their own unique way.
The magnificent shrine buildings and gardens of Heian Jingu are illuminated by the creative company NAKED, INC., providing an opportunity to reflect on the past year and offer wishes for the year to come. As a special 130th-anniversary project, a quiz stamp rally will also be held, where children can learn about the history of Heian Jingu while collecting glowing stamps. Those who answer all questions correctly will receive a candy prize.
It is a new form of 'night worship' that allows people of all generations to experience the winter nights of Kyoto through their own sensibilities.

  • The venue will be closed from Wednesday, December 31, 2025 to Monday, January 5, 2026.

  • During the event, until Monday, December 22, 2025, the Daigokuden Hall will be undergoing repainting and earthquake resistance construction as part of the Heian Shrine 130th anniversary celebrations (though worship will still be possible). We ask for your understanding.

  • Those who live in Kyoto City or are students enrolled in schools in Kyoto City can get a 500 yen discount for junior high school students and above, and free admission for elementary school students and below. When using the service, please be sure to bring identification that can verify your current address (driver's license, My Number card, resident registration card, passport, etc.). The discount will not be refunded at the time of ticket purchase, but will be refunded at the special booth after admission.

  • Preschool children are admitted free of charge.

  • Pets are not allowed.

  • Tickets cannot be refunded or changed unless the event is suspended or canceled due to reasons of the organizer.

  • Admission may be restricted depending on the congestion on the day.

  • The final admission time for this event is 20:50. Depending on the queue situation, admission may close before 20:50. In that case, please note that you will not be able to enter even if you have an admission ticket.
