— What You Can Expect —

Mantanani Islands are a group of three isolated islands located northwest of Kota Belud, about an hour’s drive from the state capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. These islands are approximately 45 minutes boat ride by speedboat from the mainland.

The islands boasts of crystal clear blue waters filled with a myriad of marine life and white sandy beaches fringed by coconut palm trees. One of the main reasons that Mantanani Islands is popular for local and tourists alike is because of its picturesque scenery, cool breezes and serene environment.

Enjoy your first dive with a 20 minutes beach dive to familiarize yourselves with the equipments at the big Mantanani Island. Then followed immediately by the second dive, the boat dive. You'll be provided 1 oxygen cylinders.

Diving equipment included: weights, weight belt, BCD, regulator, mask, fins, scuba tanks.

Wetsuits / rash guards are provided for the diving participants. This also depends on the water temperature, if the water is warm, then you can choose not to wear wetsuits and just use rash guards (top skinsuit).

The whole diving trip is guided by professional PADI Dive Instructor / Master, and we do provide a translator who can communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese.

  • The itinerary is for reference only. It is subject to change following local requirements
  • Recommend to bring: insect repellent, sun-block lotion, change of clothes, towel, cap/Hat, pocket money, slipper, at least 1 set of changing clothes.
  • Participant must be physically fit as this tour is for those who love adventure.
  • Liability Release Form MUST be signed and understood by the participant before the tour commences.
  • Age limit for diving is 18 years old and above.
  • A free diving lesson will be given to person who cannot swim.
  • You might get WET during the boat journey, so please be sure to pack and stow your belongings properly during the journey. Dry bags or raincoat for waterproofing are recommended.
  • Please change your clothes at jetty before heading back to hotel if you get wet on the way back, changing room is ready to use at the jetty.
  • You should wait a minimum of 18 hours and sometimes up to 24 hours after diving before you fly due to medical safety and surface interval reasons.
  • It will have surcharge MYR 30/pax for pickup location in Kinarut area (eg. Beringgis Beach Resort, Kinabalu Villas), MYR 20/pax for Putatan Area (Hotel No5, Lintas Area, Lido Avenue, Lido Four Season, Platinum, Pan Borneo) & Kepayan Area.
  • For meeting at Rampayan Jetty, the exact location is subjected to change, will be confirmed a day prior.

Reminders

  • The minimum required age for diving is 18 years old and above

  • The Liability Release Form must be signed and understood by the participant before the tour commences

  • Strictly no expecting mothers allowed for Mantanani trip and surface interval of 24 hours prior to flights after diving.

  • Please bring along your diver's logbook and diver certification card for the leisure dive

  • Sometime the weather is fair and the tour keep going, there might be rough sea condition and choppy water, you probably will not feel comfortable. If the weather is not getting better, only ONE session of diving will be conducted at shallow water area and will leave the island earlier than usual for safety reason.

  • This tour might be cancelled due to bad weather condition especially in Monsoon Season (November ~ January, and June), the tour company will inform you if the trip has been cancelled by early morning on traveling day. If so, you may contact us for immediate arrangement of other trips or simply tell us to postpone this tour to next available day.
