- Spot Introduction -
- Iriomote Island
Iriomote Island is the second largest island in Okinawa Prefecture. Approximately 90% of the island is covered in subtropical primeval forest, and it is a scientifically invaluable location home to 15 nationally designated natural monuments, including the Iriomote cat, the crested serpent eagle, and the Ryukyu leaf turtle. There are about 40 rivers of various sizes flowing through Iriomote Island, many of which have mangroves at their estuaries. The mangroves in the Nakama River basin are particularly magnificent, accounting for about one-fourth of all mangrove areas in Japan.
- 'Miracle Island' Barasu Island
Barasu Island is a small island formed by an accumulation of white coral sand (barasu). The sea area around Barasu Island is called the Sekisei Lagoon, a point where one of Japan's largest and most beautiful coral reefs spreads out, and it is also designated as a national park. It is an uninhabited island floating in the blue sea, consisting only of a pure white sandy beach and emerald blue water. The sea has high transparency and beautiful coral, making it perfect for snorkeling.
- Canyon Descent (Splash Canyoning)
Descend through the canyons created by the great nature of Iriomote Island using your whole body. The layers of waterfalls and rocks are like a natural athletic course. Enjoy playing to your heart's content with nature-made diving platforms, slides, and waterfall basins. It is a super exhilarating activity.
- SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding)
A new, trending activity that has become a hot topic around the world in recent years. You have likely seen it on social media or in TV commercials. It is a stylish and new way to play originating from Hawaii, where you stand on a board floating on the water and paddle to move forward.
