Katsuragi

Autumn is the best season to visit Katsuragi. There are many maple viewing spots scattered throughout the prefecture. In particular, the scenery of red leaves and shrines contrasting with each other is unique to Katsuragi in autumn.

One of the charms of Katsuragi is that you can visit ancient temples that have a deep connection with Prince Shotoku, including Horyuji Temple, the oldest wooden building in the world, and Hokiji Temple, one of the seven major temples founded by Prince Shotoku.
