The overall experience of this 2 days 1 night Tateyama Kurobe tour was very good, although it rained heavily on the first day, it did not affect our satisfaction with the trip at all. On the first day from Nagoya, we took a two-hour drive to Kamikochi. Although the weather was not ideal and the mountain scenery was mostly covered by clouds and fog, it was still very special to walk on the little mountain road to Kamikochi and feel the atmosphere of the mountain pass. The most touching thing is that Mr. Kaku was very attentive, knowing that we couldn't eat the apple pie he recommended because of the heavy rain, and immediately helped us arrange to buy the souvenir version of the tasting, which was very courteous. I stayed at a hot spring hotel that night. After soaking in the hot spring, my fatigue was gone and I had a very good rest. Departing early the next morning for Tateyama Kurobe, taking six types of public transportation along the Alpine route up the mountain, the process itself is already very special. The view of Kurobe Reservoir is very shocking, because we set off early, there are not many tourists, and there are relatively few clouds and fog, so you can see the scenery very clearly all the way. The most memorable must be up to the 2800 meters of snow valley, the whole towering snow wall is really oppressive and shocking, the scene looks like walking into a huge snow-white world. There are also snowy mountain roads to walk next to, looking at the Gokuli Pond in the distance, the lake is frozen, the screen is beautiful, it is worth going. After leaving at 2pm, we took a 4-hour tour bus back to Nagoya. Although it was a bit tiring, the whole trip was arranged smoothly. I would like to express my special thanks to the tour guide Mr. Kaku, in addition to the careful and thoughtful arrangement of the itinerary, he also helped us book a restaurant for Hida beef that night, so that we can end with a good meal. Thank you for making us have a very perfect and memorable trip, highly recommended!
The bus was clean, the driver and tour leader were friendly, and the explanations were detailed. Short breaks were arranged every 1.5 hours to allow everyone to use the restroom and have some light activity. The scenery of the highlands is worth visiting multiple times; I recommend booking a 2-day, 1-night mountain accommodation tour through KKday.
Although the overall travel time was long, the actual experience wasn't painful, with rest stops on both the outward and return journeys. Upon arriving at Kamikochi, we had nearly three and a half hours. Even the kids, who are usually indifferent to scenery, couldn't help but exclaim, "It's quite beautiful!" 😆 We walked, stopped frequently to take photos, let the kids touch the water, and had short breaks to eat our packed lunches. The walk from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge took about two and a half hours, a relaxed and pleasant pace. The scenery is beautiful, highly recommended!
The itinerary was well organized, and our tour guide, Mr. Zheng, also introduced some attractions and restaurants. However, perhaps because of Golden Week, the hotel we stayed at didn't have an onsen (hot spring), so we had to drive to a restaurant in the nearby onsen town. We felt a bit rushed when we soaked in the onsen (and the girls had to queue to get their hair dried). Also, it was very crowded during Golden Week, and our time at Kurobe Alpine Route felt a bit rushed. Apart from that, we felt that buying the itinerary was much more convenient for us!
The tour guide was very friendly, and I was lucky that the weather was great, there weren't many people, and I had plenty of time to walk around and explore each attraction.
The cable car offers panoramic views from the plains to the mountains, but service is subject to weather conditions and may be suspended in strong winds. There are two cable car sections, both offering stunning scenery.
