I exchanged my ticket at the Hiroshima Bus Terminal. I wandered around for ages, unable to find where to exchange it. I saw a guidebook and thought I'd ask. I saw a "pass" icon on a table and asked there. I met a gentleman, and we talked for ages, even showing him my purchase receipt. He kept asking if we wanted a one-day pass. Luckily, a lady returned shortly after, overheard our conversation, and immediately told the gentleman we wanted to exchange our tickets. She kindly gave us the tickets and repeatedly confirmed the usage date before we finally exchanged them. A group of Koreans were already there before we arrived, but they seemed unsure if they could buy tickets there. After we successfully exchanged ours, they immediately went ahead and bought tickets. I must say, there were almost no signs or instructions at the exchange locations. I would greatly appreciate it if your company could post clear information at all ticket exchange locations so customers could easily exchange their tickets and begin their journey.
Also, the ticket does not include the Miyajima visitor tax. However, it can be used on both ferries. You need to confirm which ferry company's machine you purchased the visitor tax from. The two are not interchangeable; you can only use the ferry company's machine after purchasing the visitor tax. This information is provided for your reference.
if you target for popular sightseeing spots near Okayama and Hiroshima, this is the JR Pass you must buy.
