There's a window at the ticket office for those who purchased tickets online. They can exchange their Kkday order QR code for a package ticket; no need to print a voucher. Visiting all five hells is worth the price, and you don't have to queue to buy tickets at each hell.
The scenery was beautiful, the shopping experience was great, the maps were thoughtfully provided, the itinerary was well-planned and had ample time, the tour guide was friendly and used appropriate language, and the tour bus was large, comfortable, and easy to ride in.
First of all, I want to thank our tour guide, Lily Zheng, for her explanations and helpful tips. It made the entire trip both safe and worry-free. Overall, Jigokudani (Hell Valley) was incredibly beautiful, like a fairyland. The zoo allowed for close encounters with the animals, just like on National Geographic – especially seeing lions and tigers up close. Yufuin is a great place with delicious food and plenty of shopping. Fans of Ghibli and Harry Potter shouldn't miss it. You can even pet an owl! It was quite unique. On the way back to Yufuin Station, I finally got to eat the dorayaki I'd been craving. In short, this was a must-do when visiting Fukuoka, and entrusting it to the ever-professional Lily was perfect. What are you waiting for? GO!
This can be used as a one-day trip to Yufuin and Beppu Onsen. In the morning, depart from the west exit of Beppu Bus Station to Takemoto Station, then proceed to Lake Kinrin, Yufuin Flower Village, and Yunotsubo, returning to Yufuin Station. From there, take a bus to Beppu Ropeway Station and ride the ropeway up and down the mountain. Afterward, take a bus to Beppu Hells (there are several direct buses on Saturdays and Sundays. On weekdays, you can return to Beppu Station first and take the Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) bus, which runs 3-4 times per hour, very convenient). From Umi Jigoku, see the five hells. If there is still time, you can visit the other two hells (Blood Pond and Tornado). Afterward, take a bus back to Beppu Station. It would be even more convenient if KKDay offered a two-day pass.
At first, we couldn't find the tour guide. We didn't know that the yellow Good Day uniform belonged to KKDay. The itinerary was two hours for photos at Lake Kinrin and eating and drinking in Yufuin. The tour guide was very helpful, taking turns taking photos for us. Later, during free time, we were a little rushed because many food stalls had long queues, and we couldn't linger too long in the souvenir shops. However, we still managed to buy some souvenirs and learn about Yufuin. Next, we went to the zoo. The tour guide mentioned on the bus that there was a ¥3600 entrance fee, so everyone should prepare small change. The ¥1400 I bought didn't include the zoo entrance fee, so please bring plenty of cash. The driver drove a minibus directly into the park, showing us the ecology of the Kyushu Zoo – it was truly eye-opening! However, the most common animals were sheep and antelopes. Along the way, we saw bears, lions, tigers, leopards, elephants, zebras, giraffes, camels... and even eagles. After leaving the park, we saw some small animals: rabbits, monkeys, kangaroos... Then we went to the Onsen Jigoku (Hell Hot Spring) for a geothermal tour. The free foot bath was super crowded, but you could buy meat buns, onsen eggs, and marble soda. Our last stop was Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), a beautiful blue geothermal hot spring. There's also the Hakuryu Inari Shrine where you can pay your respects. There are shops inside where you can buy souvenirs from other provinces. It's a leisurely stroll without feeling rushed. The tour guide was very helpful, providing commentary in Korean and Chinese on the bus. I hope to have the opportunity to join a day trip to Fukuoka again next time, so I can sleep comfortably on the bus and avoid a lot of transportation problems. Otherwise, the two-hour bus ride from Fukuoka to Yufuin is quite time-consuming. KKDay's day trip is a very convenient and cost-effective option for independent travelers like us!
