Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco and head to the traditional Andean village of Maras. Upon arrival, listen to a short introductory talk on the history and traditions of Maras town.

Next, visit the home of a local producer family and carve your own salt rock into a decorative shape to take home as a souvenir.

Between workshops, walk through the streets of Maras, listen to your guide share local history and stories along the way, and get a glimpse of the daily life of Maras residents.

Then, make your own keychain from dried corn husk (panka de choclo) in a local producer's home. Taste chicha, the traditional Inca fermented corn beverage, and take home your handmade keychain as a souvenir.

Next, learn basic ceramic-shaping techniques and get an introduction to how clay (arcilla) is traditionally worked and used in a local producer's home.

Afterward, enjoy lunch with panoramic mountain views at Ancestral Maras by Mountain View Experience, one of the Sacred Valley's best restaurants, where you can interact with llamas and alpacas.
