She Can Fly – Junior Discovery Flight with Female Pilot｜United States

Give a young aviation enthusiast the opportunity to discover what it feels like to take the first step toward becoming a pilot.

The She Can Fly Junior Discovery Flight is an introductory aviation experience designed especially for girls and teenagers who are curious about flying or dream of becoming pilots one day.

The experience begins at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, where participants meet their female certified pilot and receive an introduction to the aircraft, basic flight controls, cockpit instruments, and important safety procedures.

Before departure, the pilot will explain how an airplane flies and what pilots do before and during a flight. The participant will then take the front seat beside the instructor while accompanying family members or friends may travel in the rear seats.

During the approximately 60-minute aircraft experience, the participant can observe real-world flight operations, communicate with the instructor using an aviation headset, and learn how pilots use the aircraft controls and instruments.

When conditions and the pilot permit, the participant may have the opportunity to experience basic aircraft control under the direct supervision of the pilot.

This experience is about much more than seeing Miami from above. It is designed to build confidence, curiosity, and a connection with aviation while showing young women that the cockpit can be part of their future.
