This 5 to 6 hour private tour is ideal for Invergordon cruise passengers, women travelling with friends or family, and partners of golfers staying in Dornoch who would love their own Highland escape while someone else is playing golf, whisky tasting or enjoying a different excursion.Travelling in comfort in our luxury Mercedes V-Class, your day can begin from Invergordon Cruise Port, Dornoch, Inverness or nearby Highland locations by arrangement.

Cruise ship timings are fully accommodated, with a carefully planned return to port, and Dornoch golf tee times can also be worked around where possible.

Your day includes the fairytale-like Dunrobin Castle, with its elegant gardens and seasonal falconry display when available, giving the tour a beautiful Highland highlight and a lovely structure to the day. We can also include a scenic stop at Loch Fleet to look for seals and enjoy the coastal views before continuing to the charming town of Dornoch.

In Dornoch, you can visit the historic cathedral, browse Highland boutiques such as Dornoch Jail and Yvonne’s Tartan Boutique, enjoy lunch or local treats, or take a peaceful stroll along Dornoch’s beautiful golden sand beach.

If you would prefer not to visit Dunrobin Castle, we can simply remove this from the itinerary and create a slower day with more time for shopping, lunch, spa time, afternoon tea, whisky or gin tasting, Highland cows, coastal scenery or relaxed exploring in and around Dornoch.

There are also several steps down to the gardens where the falconry display takes place. If needed, we can arrange to drive guests closer to the gardens instead.

  • Know Before You Go: The Dunrobin Castle falconry displays are usually at 11:30am and 2:30pm, subject to season, weather and castle opening times.

  • Know Before You Go: Comfortable shoes and layered clothing are recommended, as Highland weather can change quickly.
