Product Info

Discover the stories and science of the home of the world’s largest tides, from indigenous roots and Acadian battles to shipbuilding heyday and modern renaissance.
The Petitcodiac River reverses and rushes through downtown Moncton twice a day, just as it has for thousands of years. Starting and ending at Bore Park in downtown Moncton, the Petitcodiac River Walking Tour is your chance to be part of that history.
You will experience the bloody 1758 Battle of Moncton on the exact spot where it occurred.
You will meet the hardy pioneers who made their life on the river, like Captain Molly Kool, the first licensed female sea captain in North America.
You will discover how early settlers cooperated with local indigenous residents to survive in unbelievably harsh conditions.
You will learn about the unique geography that causes the river to defy expectations as more than 100 billion tons of water rush in and push the river backwards.
And much more!
Available every morning from mid-May to October, this small group tour (maximum 10 guests) is an easy and leisurely 3 km (1.5 mile) walk along the scenic river trail and boardwalk. It is an unforgettable addition to your New Brunswick vacation.
