Built during Nicolae Ceaușescu’s communist regime, the Palace was conceived as the centerpiece of a dramatic transformation of the Romanian capital. Its vast interiors were created using enormous quantities of Romanian marble, crystal, wood, carpets, and other materials. Follow an official Palace of Parliament guide through impressive ceremonial halls, monumental staircases, corridors, and richly decorated rooms while discovering the fascinating and controversial history behind the building.
