The journey begins at the Parc de la Villette
The adventure begins in this large cultural and green space. Your boat leaves the Bassin de la Villette and heads toward the Rue de Crimée elevated bridge, an impressive metal structure that rises to let you pass. This is already an unusual appetizer, far from the usual tourist routes.
Locks and romantic walkways
You will soon reach the first lock. The water rises or falls slowly, the sound of the mechanisms accompanies this ballet, and you have time to admire the pedestrian walkways, the lively terraces, and the Parisian architecture that borders the Canal Saint-Martin. Here, every detail exudes charm: the swing bridges, the colorful facades, the fishermen on the banks. You can even see the famous Hotel du Nord, immortalized by cinema.
The mysterious tunnel
Then, suddenly, the atmosphere changes. Your boat enters an underground tunnel of more than a mile, a dark vault perforated by light holes where the calm waters are reflected.
