What happens at the Sumo Show?
A good fit for anyone who wants an easy introduction to sumo culture: the performers lead you into the authentic world of sumo.
- Duration: about 2 hours, including meal and photo time.
- Show times: up to 2 shows a day, 5–7 PM or 8–10 PM (check the calendar for exact dates).
- Before the show: enjoy your Japanese bento and drinks.
- Program: the show has two parts, and the program may vary by session:
- Part 1, Encounter the Myths: the history and origins of sumo told through music, lighting and video
- Part 2, Understanding Sumo: the rules and techniques explained so first-timers can follow
- Grand finale: a real bout between former professional wrestlers, with the power of sumo up close
- Interactive challenge: in the later part of the show, if you are chosen, you go on stage, put on sumo gear, take on a wrestler and finish with a commemorative photo.
- Lottery: to enter the sumo experience lottery, arrive before the show starts.
What do you do in the Sumo Workshop?
For travelers who want to step onto the dohyo and try sumo themselves; about 70 minutes.
- Entry: entry at 1 PM; check in 15 minutes before the start.
- 1:30 PM, Learn Sumo: professional staff introduce sumo culture and the basics.
- "Tai" (Body), watch a real bout: wrestlers demonstrate a match so you can pick up the practical points.
- Main event, step onto the dohyo: former professional wrestlers teach the basic moves, then you join a practice bout.
- Challenge a wrestler: lottery winners put on sumo gear and take on a wrestler. How confident are you?
- Sumo hot pot: after the session, everyone enjoys a Hirakuza special chicken sumo hot pot, the authentic "rikishi" meal, then takes a photo with the wrestlers.

About the Meals
- Please note that meal contents differ depending on the show time and seat type.
- Orders for the bento package close at 10 AM (Japan time) 3 days before the show date.
- For an additional fee, you can switch the Hirakuza bento (or Hirakuza kids bento) to another bento.
- Please complete your order on the "Bento Order Page for Sumo Show Ticket Holders" by 10 AM (Japan time) 3 days before the show date.

Facility users get 2 hours of free parking by presenting their entry QR code. Nearest stations: Nankai Namba Station (3F North Ticket Gate) and Osaka Metro Midosuji Line Namba Station (South-South Ticket Gate).
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations 21 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
- For cancellations made 7 to 20 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–6 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
NOTE
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
