Embark on an extraordinary journey from Athens to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Meteora. As a Greek Tourism Awards–winning agency, we invite you to experience this natural wonder through the eyes of local experts like Maria, Nikos, and Vasilis, who offer insights you won’t find on any other typical, large-group tour.
- The Journey Begins -
Your journey starts at 07:45 AM as you board our modern, privately owned, air-conditioned bus conveniently located across from the Central Railway Station of Athens (Stathmos Larisis). Sit back and enjoy a scenic ride through the picturesque Greek countryside. Stay connected and fully charged with onboard Wi-Fi and USB ports at every bus seat. To ensure a relaxed experience, we provide scheduled, refreshment stops at local shops with clean restroom facilities. We prioritize your comfort, so we will stop at least once each way, and even more frequently if needed, allowing you to stretch your legs and stay refreshed.
- A Warm Welcome to Kalambaka -
By noon, we arrive at the foothills of the giant rocks in the charming town of Kalambaka, where your friendly local guide will be waiting to welcome you. If you have selected the lunch option, you will enjoy a delightful meal at a hand-picked local restaurant. This includes a fresh salad, your choice of 10+ traditional main dishes (with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options), freshly baked bread, and refreshing water. If you chose the option without lunch, you will have this time to freely explore the heart of Kalambaka, browse local shops, or relax at a café under the shadow of the breathtaking Meteora formations.
- The Majestic Monasteries of Meteora -
After our midday lunch break, we ascend to the monasteries. Your guide, a true local expert, will lead you through an immersive tour of this unique landscape. You will see all six majestic monasteries and step inside the interiors of three of them to explore their history and art. If English is not your primary language, we are happy to provide free audio guides in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, ensuring you don’t miss a single fascinating detail.
- The Hidden Wonders and Secret Caves of Meteora -
Beyond the famous landmarks, we take you to the "secret" side of Meteora that most travelers never see. You will discover ancient hermit caves and the magnificent St. George Mandilas cave while hearing the intriguing myths and history of the first monks. Throughout the journey, we make multiple panoramic stops at exclusive viewpoints, giving you the best opportunities to capture extraordinary photos of this breathtaking scenery.
- Farewell to Meteora -
As the afternoon light begins to fade, we set off on our journey back to Athens. With our modern bus amenities, you can relax or share your photos as we travel through the mainland. You can expect to arrive back in Athens at approximately 10:15 PM, having experienced the most complete and authentic tour of Meteora available.
