Product Info

  • ★Recommended Highlights★ ・Explore the nature-rich Oasa area in northern Hiroshima Prefecture with a local guide. This tour allows you to encounter the 'nature, people, and food' of Oasa while cycling approximately 15km round trip on an E-BIKE. ・First, we will stop at a nearby local produce market to purchase about 1kg to 2kg of freshly harvested rice. While 'Tamago Kake Gohan' (egg over rice) is the main dish, we will also pick up some side dishes that pair perfectly with the rice. (Food costs are included in the tour price. Any leftover rice or ingredients can be taken home.) ・We will visit 'Hotokebara Park,' famous for its autumn foliage and its delicious natural spring water. We will collect water here for drinking and cooking our rice. If you visit during the autumn season, you can also enjoy the beautiful fall colors. ・Next, we head to the free-range poultry farm 'Farm Buffo' to collect eggs. Their unique, zero-waste regional circular farming method involves using items humans cannot eat—such as rice bran, broken rice, and vegetable scraps—as chicken feed, while the chicken manure is fermented into compost for local farmers, whose crop waste then returns to the chickens as feed. The farm was awarded 1st place in the 'Livestock Category' at the 'Tabechoku Award 2024,' which honors the most popular producers of the year. It was a year that recognized Mr. Iwasaki's achievements and hard work. After hearing from the producer, Mr. Iwasaki, and touring the chicken coop, you will get to collect fresh eggs laid by the free-roaming chickens! ・Once we have our fresh rice, water, and eggs, we head to 'Ootaya,' an inn where you can experience woodchopping. At Ootaya, we will chop firewood, start a fire, and cook our rice in a traditional 'kamado' stove. Let's chant together while we cook: 'Hajime choro choro, naka pappa. Akago naitemo futa toruna' (Start slow, then high heat; don't lift the lid even if the baby cries)♪ ・The ultimate, exquisite egg-over-rice meal that you can only taste here is complete! ・After the meal, we will head back at a leisurely pace. You also have the option to stop by a cafe on the way. 【Plan】 E-BIKE Guided Tour 【Price】 Adults (Junior high school students and above): Weekdays 9,900 JPY / Sundays 12,000 JPY Elementary school students: Flat rate 6,000 JPY *Tax included 【Time】 10:00 - 15:30 【Attire】 Backpack or shoulder bag (something that leaves both hands free) Easy-to-move-in clothing (pants with hems that won't get dirty, sneakers) *Luggage storage is available 【What to Bring】 Sunglasses (summer), towel, gloves (winter), rain gear (needed in case of light rain), jacket that is easy to take on and off, drinks (bottle holder provided, can be purchased locally), personal water bottle 【Notes & Remarks】 ・Participation Requirements: Height 150cm or taller, must be able to ride a bicycle alone. Please consult with us if an elementary school student wishes to participate. ・Included in the participation fee: Electric-assist bicycle and helmet rental fee, guide fee, meal cost (kamado cooking experience), Ootaya facility usage fee, accident insurance (within coverage limits), consumption tax. ・The tour will be canceled in case of rain or snow. Please consult with us in case of light rain.
