This plan is for foreign visitors who are not fluent in Japanese. An English-speaking guide will accompany you. This is a kayaking picnic plan on Lake Chuzenji in the naturally rich Oku-Nikko area! Experience the unique natural environment of Oku-Nikko from the lake's surface, get up close to the giant Mizunara oak tree known as the "Mother Tree," and venture a little further out to sea to admire the majestic 2,486-meter-high Mount Nantai. Enjoy kayaking on Lake Chuzenji, a destination beloved by kayaking enthusiasts! It's easily accessible from the Tokyo metropolitan area. Even if you're a complete beginner, you'll be in a stable kayak with little risk of capsizing, making it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, from small children to seniors. Why not try kayaking with your family, partner, or friends?

This plan is for first-time kayakers. An English-speaking guide will accompany you. You can choose a start time of 9:00, 11:30, or 14:00, and the tour will last approximately two hours from check-in to the end. Rental equipment is available for an additional fee, so you can participate empty-handed.

Questions about booking:

Question 1: Please tell us the gender of the participants and their grade level if any children under elementary school age are participating. (Example) Adults: 1 male / 1 female, 1 8-year-old male / 1 5-year-old female
Question 2: How many single and double kayaks do you need? (Single kayaks are available for ages 11 and up.)
Question 3: We will provide clothing. Please fill in the "height" and "body type (skinny, normal, stocky, etc.)" of all participants. Please note that we will not be able to provide clothing if this information is not provided.
Question 4: Please fill in if you need any paid rental items (500 yen each: shoes, T-shirts, shorts). (If so, please let us know the item, size, and quantity.)

Regarding cancellation of the event:

The event will be held in snowy or rainy weather. It will also be held in downpours. In the unlikely event that the event is canceled, we will contact the person who made the reservation by 8:00 PM the day before the event. If we do not receive any contact, the event will generally be held, so thank you for your understanding. However, in rare cases, due to weather disaster warnings, we may be forced to cancel the event at the last minute if safety cannot be ensured. Please note that in the event of a last minute cancellation, participants will be responsible for transportation costs to the event site. Furthermore, if the event is canceled at the last minute for unavoidable reasons, we will reschedule the participation date or refund the full participation fee already paid.

How to Get There

・By car: Take the Tohoku Expressway from Utsunomiya IC to the Nikko Utsunomiya Expressway and exit at Nikko Kiyotaki IC. Take National Route 120 toward Lake Chuzenji, up Irohazaka, and continue for about 4km with the lake on your left. It takes about 30 minutes under normal circumstances from Kiyotaki IC. Take the Tohoku Expressway from Urawa IC to Imaichi IC: Approximately 90 minutes (approximately 129km). *These times are approximate only. Please allow plenty of time. If using a car navigation system, search for "Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel." Some car navigation systems may direct you to a different location if you search by address. ・By train: Take the Tobu bus from Tobu or JR Nikko Station. Take the bus bound for Yumoto Onsen from Nikko Station for about an hour. Get off at the "Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel" bus stop. The hotel is located in the forest on the right side of the road. *Please note that during peak tourist season, it may take more than three hours by bus from Nikko Station to the site.
