While guide vehicles were previously able to reach the gate in front of the Kinsakubaru Primeval Forest entrance, parking is now required at the Chinaze intersection, followed by a walking tour. The total distance of the tour on unpaved roads is approximately 4km. This tour covers two of Amami's most popular primeval forests (Kinsakubaru Primeval Forest and the Mangrove Forest). Certified Amami guide Mr. Hirai will accompany guests as you take your time to explore the ancient nature that appears before your eyes, without worrying about the time.

Kinsakubaru Primeval Forest!
Meet subtropical flora and fauna, including the Cyathea lepifera (flying spider-monkey tree fern) estimated to be around 150 years old, which represents the forests of Amami. You can walk at a leisurely pace, observe, and take photos while listening to the birds chirping. The round trip is about 4km on unpaved roads, making it easy for people of a wide range of ages to participate. Refresh yourself from daily fatigue in the vibrant nature of Amami.
Mangrove Canoe!
We provide single-person canoes as the standard, which are safe even for first-timers. Even in the worst case that you need to retire midway, we will tow one boat, so you can go with peace of mind. Participants range from elementary school students to seniors. There is no time limit for canoeing, so you can enjoy it to the fullest. Some tough participants have even gone around twice.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time. Generally 8:30 - 17:00 (There may be changes depending on the tide time of the day. In that case, we will discuss the start time with you.)

Question 2: If you would like a pick-up service, please provide your accommodation name if you are staying in the former Naze city area. For other locations, we will inform you of the meeting point via email after the booking is confirmed.

Regarding tour cancellation:

The tour may be cancelled if it is judged to be dangerous due to weather conditions.

Notes on participating in the course:

For children aged 3 and under, please note that there is no tour fee, but a 500 JPY insurance fee (payable on-site) will be charged. Please note that family members are responsible for looking after the child.

* The morning or afternoon course will be decided based on the day's tides. * Please note that the start time may be earlier depending on the day's tides. * We aim to base the schedule on high tide to ensure you can experience the mangrove tunnel. * During low tide, the water level drops and there is almost no water, so you cannot enter the mangrove tunnel by canoe. * You cannot book for children only.
