- Itinerary Introduction -

  • Jiangong Islet: Also known as 'Zhu Islet', it is located at the mouth of the Wujiang River. This small island, covering about 500 square meters, served as an outpost between the southwest coast of Kinmen and Lesser Kinmen. It was named to signify 'a pillar of merit'. Due to the significant tidal range in Kinmen, the stone path connecting Jiangong Islet to the main island is completely submerged during high tide and can only be walked upon during low tide. The interval between high and low tide is approximately 12 hours. During high tide, the islet appears as a lonely island in the sea, while at low tide, the stone path reveals intertidal wetland ecosystems and various bird species. (The itinerary sequence will be adjusted according to tidal times.) (As the stone path can be slippery and uneven, please wear non-slip, comfortable walking shoes. Access to the island is subject to low tide conditions!!)
  • Sleeping Tank: Located just a 10-minute walk from Oucuo Settlement, Oucuo Beach features fine sand and gentle currents, making it a popular spot for locals to stroll or swim. Watching the sunrise over the sea is another major highlight. Additionally, when the tide recedes, the remains of a tank lying on the beach are revealed, becoming a rare photo spot that attracts many visitors. The sleeping tank dreams quietly of past battles.
  • Zhushan: Formerly known as 'Shanzidou' (meaning protected by surrounding mountains), it is located in the southwest of Kinmen. Centered around the Datang pond, Jianshan Mountain behind the Xue Family Temple was developed into Zhushan Park after the founding of the Republic of China. It now features hiking trails and pavilions, offering beautiful panoramic views of the entire Zhushan settlement.
  • Ye Huacheng Former Residence: This is a two-story, six-room traditional Minnan-style house. Beyond being a representative piece of architecture, the renovated Wine History Museum showcases the history of Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor, its relationship with culture and daily life, as well as themes like brewing, steaming, koji-making, and bottling. It is a venue rich in cultural content, helping both tourists and locals understand the history of Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor, which has grown from the military and civil administration eras to become a multi-billion dollar industry famous throughout Taiwan.
  • Ming Dynasty Old Street: Located outside the North Gate of Kinmen City, this street has a history of over 400 years and is known as the oldest street in Kinmen. Low-rise street houses line both sides, and the four exits of the street were originally equipped with defensive gates.
  • Yannan Academy: Situated on high ground, it offers a commanding view of the beautiful scenery of Jincheng Township. The plaza in front of the academy features an installation art piece modeled after an ancient scroll, inscribed with Zhu Xi's poem 'Reflections on Reading': 'A half-acre square pond opens like a mirror, where the light of the sky and the shadows of the clouds linger together. Ask how it can be so clear? Because it has a source of living water.'
