There are currently more than 30 Purple Butterfly Valleys in Taiwan, of which 25 are Tanikou Facing south, there is Qianxigou covered with forests. Leeward terrain, water sources, and forests are the three major factors for a butterfly to choose a wintering location. There are at least 10 butterfly valleys in Maolin District.
