1. Chen's Kitchen launches " Five Flavors of Life Afternoon Tea "
Using Chinese and Western flavors to depict the sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and salty journey of life.
Chen's Kitchen will be launching a limited-time "Five Flavours of Life Afternoon Tea Set" from September 1st to November 30th, 2025. Inspired by the five flavors of "sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and salty," the set incorporates the tastes of different stages of life into exquisite Chinese and Western pastries, leading guests on a *Journey of Taste and Reflection* culinary journey.
This afternoon tea was divided into two main sections, The East and The West , presenting a rich tapestry of flavors through a creative fusion of Chinese and Western elements. The Eastern savory dishes were centered around Chinese flavors, including sweet and soft glutinous rice cakes with a flowing brown sugar center, spicy and tangy *Sichuan peppercorn and spicy conch slices, refreshing and sweet salt and pepper bitter melon, crispy and numbing Mapo tofu, and fresh and chewy **lychee flower balls**, showcasing the delicate variations of Eastern tastes through a variety of textures.
Western desserts blend classic dessert techniques with Eastern elements, including the refreshing and elegant bird's nest, honey, and longan cup; the sweet and sour hibiscus and pear cake; the rich and slightly bitter roasted tea 80% black chocolate cream puff; the spicy Sichuan pepper mango and coconut Napoleon with its intertwined aromas of numbing spiciness and fruitiness ; and the savory and rich **Golden Sand Cheese Tart**, injecting a new style of East-West fusion into afternoon tea.
Afternoon tea also features plain and osmanthus-flavored longan and honey English scones, accompanied by *plain and osmanthus-flavored honey butter cream*, allowing guests to savor the delicate aromas of osmanthus, longan, and honey in the classic English afternoon tea tradition. The set also includes a selection of teas, coffees, or other beverages to add a touch of leisurely elegance to the afternoon.
"The Five Flavors of Life Afternoon Tea" is perfect for sharing with close friends, partners, or family. In the afternoon, savor the interwoven flavors of sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and salty, and experience the layers and aftertaste behind each bite.
