The car rental company contacted us proactively before we set off, which was reassuring. The driver was punctual, drove smoothly, and gave a brief introduction to the attractions on the way. We were a three-generation family on a day trip. My grandmother has difficulty walking, so we took the small train to Numahira Station and then to Shinmoku Station. The trains at the two stations are different and each has its own charm. The train at Numahira Station is made of logs, and there's a flat, easy-to-walk elevated walkway at the station. The train at Shinmoku Station is vintage-style, and after walking up a few steps, you reach the magnificent sacred tree. It was fantastic!
My first time on a day trip was a fantastic experience!!! ✨
1. The travel agency notified us in advance via SMS and Line to arrange a driver for hotel pick-up and drop-off! They also conveyed pre-trip instructions. (Since the original date was unavailable, we were able to book as scheduled after contacting KKDay!)
2. We formed a group of 6 with other travelers, traveling in a 9-seater minivan. Upon boarding, we received a small gift bag from the travel agency (containing itinerary documents, bottled water, and a small pastry as a souvenir).
3. The driver was familiar with the roads and professional, driving smoothly and without any motion sickness (tissues and vomit bags were available in the vehicle for passengers prone to motion sickness).
4. Our group included Japanese travelers, and the driver introduced the sights along the way in both Chinese and Japanese. The interactive Q&A was fun, and he even took us to hidden gems not on the itinerary, helping us take beautiful photos! We also had Alishan tea!
5. The Fenqihu bento boxes included in the tour were delicious, and they could even help us order Aiyu jelly. They also took us to buy some tasty donuts!
6. The tour was semi-guided; the itinerary was coordinated with the travelers based on the day's situation. We arranged a meeting time with the driver on the bus and then had free time, allowing us more flexibility and freedom to explore the park!
A big thank you to the travel agency for the arrangements and to the driver for his friendly company! (o^^o)
The 9‑seater vehicle was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the driver, Mr. Chang, was very friendly throughout the trip. Customer service via LINE was responsive and helpful. Our guide, Mr. Wu, gave detailed explanations and took excellent photos for everyone. The hotel was economic level—not great, but acceptable for a short stay. Dinner and the next morning's breakfast were simple but enough to fill your tummy.
We didn't catch the sunset because of the clouds, but the sunrise was absolutely stunning! The itinerary was relaxed and well‑organized, making it perfect for travelers who want a worry‑free experience. The only downside was that Apple Pay wasn't accepted somehow, so it took me a bit longer to complete payment with a credit card. Overall, highly recommended for an easy and enjoyable trip.
