Tours

Tours is located in the Loire Valley of France and is an important tourist destination for the Loire River castle complex. This city has been a prosperous trading city since ancient Roman times. After the 11th century, with the Hundred Years War between England and France and the French Wars of Religion, kings and nobles built defensive or palace castles in the Royal River Valley. Tours was the capital of France during the reign of Louis XI and is now the starting point for sightseeing among the castles on the Loire River. Tours is also one of the important cities on the pilgrimage route to St. James, and the scallop shell symbol can be seen on the ground.

Tours travel FAQs and useful info

Is it cheaper to travel with a tour company?

Tour operators can often negotiate better prices for attractions, hotels, and flights by booking in bulk. This can make purchasing a tour package significantly more cost-effective than booking each component individually.

What is the best site to book tour packages?

The ideal site for booking tour packages depends on your preferences. For general vacation packages and deals, Expedia and Travelocity are popular. For specific activities and day tours, Viator is a great choice. Specialized companies like Intrepid Travel or EF Go Ahead Tours offer curated group and adventure tours. For reviews and broader travel advice, Tripadvisor is an excellent resource to help you decide.

Is it more affordable to book a vacation with a tour package?

Vacation packages can offer savings because providers secure bulk discounts on flights, hotels, and other services, which can be passed on to you. Packages often include added benefits like free meals or upgrades. While bundling can be cheaper, it's always wise to compare the total package cost against individual component prices to ensure it's the best deal for your needs.

What are the key differences between Trafalgar and Collette Tours?

Trafalgar specializes in immersive cultural experiences, aiming to provide travelers with an 'insider' perspective and access to unique local insights and hidden gems. Collette focuses on personalized service, flexibility, and comprehensive inclusions, offering both small-group and classic tours with a strong emphasis on customer service and clear refund policies.

How do tour packages save money compared to booking separately?

Travel companies purchase flights and hotels in large volumes, allowing them to secure better rates from providers and offer those savings to customers. Additionally, tour packages frequently include bonuses such as complimentary meals, airport transfers, or room upgrades that are not typically available when booking individual components. Bundling also saves time and effort in the planning and booking process.
