The scheduled flight was cancelled due to thick cloud cover, but thankfully the weather improved the next morning and we were able to take off successfully. Our guide, Jack, was very fun! He also paid close attention to the safety of the group throughout the trip, making it a must-try experience when visiting New Zealand!
Exchanging my KKday voucher for a ticket, I took the cable car up the mountain. The distance wasn't much longer than our Maokong Gondola or Sun Moon Lake cable car, but the view from the summit offered a panoramic vista of Lake Wakatipu and Remarkables! It was breathtaking! The luge was easy to learn and very fun! After sliding down, I took the luge back up. Afterwards, I scanned the QR code on my helmet to retrieve my digital photo! How thoughtful!
The itinerary is flexible to accommodate unpredictable weather; even on a clear day, strong winds may prevent a jump, so be prepared. My family and I were lucky enough to complete a 15,000-foot skydive that day, which was fantastic! Wanaka's scenery is beautiful. The pre-trip instructions were very detailed, and following the instructor's movements ensured safety. Photography is available as an add-on service on-site.
Enjoy the gentle breeze at the bow of the boat, where the speed is just right. If you're worried about the cold, you can enjoy the scenery indoors, accompanied by an all-you-can-eat farm barbecue. After dinner, there's a sheep sling show and a sheepdog herding show, making it a truly enriching trip.
