Sawasdee Bangkok Elephant Sanctuary Park is an ethical elephant sanctuary in Sriracha, Chonburi. Six elephants live here, and riding is never offered — no rides, no shows and no performances. Over a half day you join six hands-on activities, and a Thai lunch is included.
1. Safety briefing — learn how the elephants behave and the rules for being near them.
2. Dung paper workshop — wash, boil and press elephant dung into handmade paper you keep.
3. Vitamin ball workshop — mix banana, tamarind, ground rice husk and salt, then roll the balls by hand.
4. Feeding — hand your vitamin balls and fresh fruit such as banana, sugarcane and watermelon to the elephants.
5. Walking with the elephants — walk the green grounds with the elephants and their mahouts.
6. Mud spa and bath — watch their mud spa, then join them in the water and help rinse them.
You will also enjoy a Thai lunch — Pad Thai, fried rice, seasonal fruit and a pandan-leaf drink
