Next, visit the Charminar, the symbol of Hyderabad, built in 1591. Climb up for a bird’s-eye view of Laad Bazaar, perfect for photos and street exploration. Then, head to the Mecca Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, built using soil from Mecca and located adjacent to Charminar.
Drive by or take a short walk through Laad Bazaar, famous for bangles, pearls, perfumes, and ittar, and great for quick souvenir shopping.
Enjoy a lunch break at one of the following options: Paradise Biryani, an iconic spot for Hyderabadi biryani; Hotel Shadab, known for authentic local flavors; or The Spicy Venue, for Andhra-style meals.
After lunch, visit the Chowmahalla Palace, the former residence of the Nizams, known for its royal architecture, vintage cars, grand halls, peaceful gardens, and photo opportunities.
Continue to the Salar Jung Museum, India’s largest private art collection, featuring famous exhibits like the Veiled Rebecca, musical clocks, and Persian carpets. This stop is great for art, history, and antiques lovers.
Optionally, visit the Qutb Shahi Tombs, domed tombs of Golconda rulers in a landscaped park, known for their beautiful Indo-Islamic architecture. This stop can be skipped if short on time.
Finally, visit the Golconda Fort, a majestic fort known for its unique acoustics and views. Climb to the top for sunset views. Optionally, stay for the Sound & Light Show at 7:00 PM (English). End your day with a drop-off at your hotel or a dinner stop.
