Enjoy a self-guided Emerald Cave kayak rental from Willow Beach on the Colorado River, paddling through Black Canyon at your own pace. Kayaks and gear are pre-set at the Paddlecraft Launch Area; you get a vest fitting and safety briefing, then launch on your own. Located about 1 hour from Las Vegas, NV.

Skill level
Kayaks are stable and user-friendly, but this is a real river where wind can make paddling demanding. Not suitable for true first-time kayakers. If you have never kayaked or want a guide, book the guided Scenic Escape Kayak Tour with EZ Kayak, not this rental.

You must drive your own vehicle. No shuttle, hotel pickup, or transportation.
Address: 25804 N Willow Beach Rd, Willow Beach, AZ 86445 (inside Lake Mead National Recreation Area).
Park entry fee: 25 USD per vehicle paid to the National Park Service at the entrance; not included in the rental.

Scheduled launch times
- 8:00 AM – up to 6 hours
- 9:00 AM – up to 5 hours
- 10:00 AM & 11:00 AM – up to 4 hours

Typical route is about 4 miles round trip; most guests finish in 3–3.5 hours. Earlier launches are better for calmer, quieter conditions.

Arrive 15–30 minutes before your launch for check-in, vest fitting, and briefing. Example: 9:00 AM launch → arrive between 8:30–8:45 AM.
Arriving at or after your launch time means you missed your departure; the rental is forfeited with no refund or rescheduling. Time runs from the scheduled launch, not your arrival. If you cannot be on time, do NOT book.

This is a self-guided Colorado River kayak adventure. You manage your pace, follow the provided map, and return within your rental window, even when wind increases effort.
There is no guide, escort boat, tow-back, or rescue service from EZ Kayak. If you are not comfortable taking full responsibility for yourself on the river, do NOT book.

Mandatory online waiver
Required for all guests, including minors, as a National Park Service requirement.
Complete the waiver immediately after booking and at least 24 hours before your rental.
No waiver = no launch. On‑site waivers are NOT available.
Missing the deadline results in automatic cancellation with no refund. If you do not want to complete the waiver, do NOT book.

Height & weight limits (checked on the day)
Applies to every participant and is enforced at check-in:
- Up to 6’1” (185 cm): max 260 lb (118 kg / 18 st)
- 6’1”–6’8” (185–203 cm): max 300 lb (136 kg / 21.4 st)
- Children: minimum age 5, minimum weight 40 lb (18 kg / 2.8 st)
- Absolute height limit: 6’8” (203 cm)

Limits apply on the day of your experience. Exceeding limits or giving inaccurate info = NO participation and NO refund. If anyone in your group is close to the limit, unsure of weight, or unwilling to be weighed, do NOT book.
