Depart San Francisco and travel north across the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Take in views along the way as you leave the city behind and head into Marin County.

Arrive at Muir Woods National Monument, home to a protected old-growth forest of coastal redwoods—the tallest type of tree in the world. With your admission included, enjoy approximately 1.5 hours of free time to explore at your own pace. Follow peaceful trails beneath the immense redwood canopy, walk beside Redwood Creek, and choose a route that suits the time and pace you prefer. Muir Woods offers several walks of varying lengths, including shorter loops through the main redwood grove.
