Learn to Back Country Camp/Trip: Custom Private Sessions
Location: North Simcoe/South Muskoka (based in Collingwood)
Are you eager to get away from the busy campgrounds and start camping in the back country? Step it Up Adventures is here to give you the knowledge and skills to plan and navigate your first hiking or paddling trip in the back country. Our sessions are private and customized to meet your learning needs/interests. We provide the expertise and all required equipment for these sessions.
Pricing & Package Details:
Base Price: $500 for a one-day session (6-8 hours) for 1-2 person.
Add-ons include: 1. An additional day. 2. An overnight session. 3. On the water paddling session. 4. Locations outside of North Simcoe/South Muskoka (greater than 1.5hrs from Collingwood).
How the Process Works: 1. Book/Inquire: You can reach out directly to speak with us about what you are looking for, or book your date immediately online. 2. Consultation: We will reach out to you to gain a clear understanding of what you are seeking to learn and then we will develop your custom curriculum and provide a final price should an any add ons be requested. 3. Logistics: We will confirm the date, location, and any required personal items that you will require.
Knowledge & Skills Taught: The knowledge and skills taught will be determined through consultation with you, and often include some/all of the following. 1. Gear Selection: Buying tripping gear can be overwhelming and expensive. We help you navigate this by showing and discussing various pieces of equipment, such as sleeping systems, tents, water filtration, and camp stoves. 2. Packing: Learn how and what equipment and clothing to pack. 3. Food: Learn about various back country food options. 4 Selecting & Setting up your Campsite: Learn how to be "Bear Wise" and ensure you are safe when bad weather hits. 5. Map Reading & Trip Planning: Learn the fundamentals of basic map reading and how to plan a safe route. 6. Paddling & Hiking: Learn some base hiking techniques and/or paddling strokes and portaging tips.
