Experience an extraordinary Loire Valley journey during this full-day guided excursion from Tours, showcasing two of the region's most celebrated castles: Chenonceau and Chambord.

Your adventure begins with pickup at the Tours Tourist Office, where you'll meet your English-speaking driver-guide. Travel through the picturesque Loire countryside in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Your first stop is Château de Chenonceau, known as the Château of the Ladies, gracefully spanning the Cher River. Uncover its fascinating heritage, from Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici to the literary salons hosted by Louise Dupin. Wander through elegant rooms, including the bedroom of Diane, the Green Study, and the Gallery, before strolling through the exquisitely landscaped gardens.

Free time for lunch follows in a nearby village, with meals purchased at your own expense. Continue onwards to Château de Chambord, a UNESCO World Heritage site and architectural triumph. Marvel at the central keep, four corner towers, more than 440 rooms, and the renowned double-helix staircase attributed to Leonardo da Vinci's influence. Absorb panoramic vistas from the rooftop and discover the castle independently following your guided exploration.

You'll return to Tours at day's end, enriched by the history, artistry, and magnificence of two of the Loire Valley's most extraordinary châteaux.

As this area represents a significant part of the château, the tour route has been modified accordingly. The reopening date is not yet confirmed, but is not expected before the end of the year

  • Remember to bring:To protect the environment, plastic water bottles are no longer provided during tours; please bring your own reusable bottle. Water and refills are available at the castles visited
