The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is a historic and traditional event ranked among the top three fireworks festivals in Japan,

held over two days along the Shinano River. Its history began on August 1, 1946, the year after the air raids,

carrying prayers for reconstruction. The approximately 20,000 fireworks launched into the summer night sky offer a wide variety,

and you will be overwhelmed by their power and beauty.

  • Because the bus parking area and the venue are located some distance apart, depending on your viewing location, you may need to walk for up to 30 to 60 minutes.

  • The event will proceed even in light rain. Please bring a raincoat, towel, etc. in case of rain. (Please refrain from using umbrellas while watching the fireworks.)
