Product Info

We will walk for about one and a half hours around the site of the Berlin Palace on Museum Island. I will explain the history of the original palace, which was bombed but not totally destroyed during the Second World War. It was then torn down in 1951 to create a vast demonstration area. I’ll tell you about the former ‘Palace of the GDR-Republic,’ built in 1975 and closed by the last GDR Volkskammer in 1990 because of asbestos contamination. You will also get a full presentation of the reconstructed baroque façades and the Humboldt Forum cultural hub inside. I worked as head of communications for the public developer, client, and owner from 2013 to 2020.
