This course will be viewed from seated areas (Shinano River riverbed, left bank). You will be seated on folding chairs arranged on the soil of the riverbed.
We will arrive at the fireworks venue relatively early, between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Since you will be waiting for a long time before the fireworks begin, please take sufficient precautions against the heat.
It usually takes about 10 minutes to walk from the bus parking lot to the viewing area. After the fireworks end, traffic congestion occurs in the city due to police traffic restrictions, so it typically takes 2 to 3 hours for buses to leave the parking lot. Therefore, although we plan to arrive at the accommodation around 24:10 (midnight), this may vary significantly from the initial estimate.
In the event of severe weather, the Nagaoka Fireworks Competition may cancel the fireworks display at its discretion. If a decision is made before the tour departs from Tokyo Station, your trip will be cancelled. If no decision is made before departure, the tour will depart as scheduled. Please note that no refunds will be given for tour fees after departure.
Due to the expected heavy crowds, we will prioritize fireworks viewing in our itinerary. There is a possibility that some parts of the itinerary may be changed. Also, due to safety regulations for tour buses, there may be long waits before departure from the station or hotel.
A fee of 1,500 yen per meal will be charged for any changes to the meal plan due to food allergies, religious reasons, etc., plus any difference in price. Please notify us at least 14 days before your departure date.
Please leave the seating arrangements for transportation (bus, airplane, train, etc.) and accommodation room assignments to us. We kindly ask that you refrain from reclining your bus seat.
Even when booking for two or more people, train seats may not be adjacent or may be separated. Please be aware of this in advance.
Children under 3 years old are not permitted to participate in this tour.
During peak seasons, extra trains may be used, and the departure and arrival stations (Tokyo or Ueno) for the round-trip Shinkansen will be announced in the final travel information document.
The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is traditionally held along the banks of the Shinano River in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. The main viewing areas are typically set up on both the right and left banks of the river, offering expansive views of the spectacular displays. The exact viewing locations can vary slightly each year.
For the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, there are generally designated paid reserved seating areas along the Shinano River banks, offering optimal and comfortable views. These reserved seats eliminate the need to find a spot and ensure an unobstructed experience. Tour packages often include access to these premium seated areas for a better viewing experience.
The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival typically begins in the early evening, often around 7:00 PM, and continues for approximately two hours. It is usually held over two consecutive nights, with unique displays on both evenings. Spectators are advised to arrive well in advance to their viewing spots to settle in comfortably.
The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival display typically lasts for about two hours each evening. This generous duration allows for a grand sequence of various fireworks, including its famous "Phoenix" and "Niagara Falls" displays, culminating in a spectacular finale that draws the event to a powerful close.
While free viewing areas are generally available along the Shinano River for the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, these spots can become extremely crowded, making it difficult to secure a good view. Many choose to book tour packages through KKday that include comfortable reserved seating, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular display without the hassle of finding a spot and guaranteeing an unobstructed view.
Many visitors travel to the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival by Shinkansen. Tour packages often include round-trip Shinkansen travel from major cities like Tokyo or Ueno to nearby stations such as Tsubame-Sanjo or Niigata. From there, transportation to the festival venue is usually arranged, often involving a short bus transfer and a walk from a designated parking lot, typically about 10 minutes.
The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is renowned for its immense scale, featuring massive shell fireworks and a two-kilometer-long "Niagara Falls" display. Its deeply emotional "Phoenix" fireworks, dedicated to reconstruction efforts, is particularly moving. The festival's historical significance and commitment to peace also contribute to its unique and powerful atmosphere, making it more than just a visual spectacle.
Nagaoka Fireworks Festival tour packages often include accommodation at nearby hotels or traditional ryokans. For instance, some packages provide lodging at Yudagami Onsen "Hotel Koyanagi." These packages typically include an early dinner at the hotel before you head to the fireworks display, ensuring a comfortable and convenient experience during the festival period.
