The Amakusa region is renowned for its rich natural ecology and unique experiences. Visitors can take a boat tour to observe lively dolphin pods up close and feel the charm of the ocean. Additionally, the itinerary includes a hearty seafood barbecue lunch featuring abalone as a highlight, and a visit to the Amakusa Pearl Garden to learn about pearl cultivation culture.
The most anticipated highlights of this tour include approximately one hour on a dolphin-watching cruise, allowing you to witness dolphins playing in their natural habitat up close. For lunch, you'll enjoy an individual serving of about 80 grams of grilled abalone along with fresh seafood barbecue, offering an ultimate taste experience. A visit to the Amakusa Pearl Garden also provides deep insight into the local specialty industry and culture.
This Amakusa tour departs from Hakata and typically includes dedicated shuttle service, providing round-trip transportation from Hakata city to the Amakusa region. This allows travelers to avoid planning complex routes or transfers and reach their destination comfortably and easily, enjoying the journey stress-free.
In addition to the popular dolphin watching, Amakusa tours offer rich local culinary experiences, particularly a seafood barbecue lunch that includes grilled abalone, allowing you to taste Amakusa's fresh seafood. You will also visit the Amakusa Pearl Garden, a site that combines tourism with pearl culture, where you can learn about pearls and purchase souvenirs.
The Amakusa dolphin watching cruise is designed for a sailing time of approximately one hour. During this period, the cruise will take you to areas where dolphins are frequently sighted, giving tourists ample time and opportunity to observe the natural spectacle of dolphin pods leaping and chasing the boat at close range.
The most popular signature dish at the seafood barbecue lunch in Amakusa is the grilled abalone, with each guest receiving an 80-gram serving. In addition to the fresh abalone, the lunch typically includes a variety of other fresh seafood, presented grilled, allowing you to experience Amakusa's fishery culture and oceanic flavors while enjoying your meal.
The Amakusa Pearl Garden is a place that combines sightseeing with shopping. Here, visitors can learn in-depth about the cultivation process, types, and characteristics of pearls, and admire various exquisite pearl jewelry. The garden also has a souvenir shop offering unique pearl-related products, allowing you to take a piece of Amakusa's specialty home with you.
A full-day Amakusa tour departing from Hakata, including travel time and stops at various attractions, generally takes about 8 to 10 hours from the meeting point to the final return to the Hakata area. This is a fulfilling day trip that allows ample time to experience the essence of Amakusa.
