Trek Overview
The Mardi Himal Base Camp 5-Day Trek is a short yet rewarding Himalayan adventure ideal for trekkers seeking dramatic mountain scenery without long time commitments. The trail follows a high ridge east of the Annapurna Sanctuary, offering continuous views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.
Starting from lush forests and traditional villages, the trek gradually ascends into alpine terrain and exposed ridgelines. The highlight is the early-morning ascent to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m), where panoramic Himalayan views unfold at sunrise.
Trekkers stay in simple mountain teahouses equipped with twin rooms and shared facilities. Meals are freshly prepared and include traditional Nepali dishes like Dal Bhat, soups, noodles, and breakfast options such as porridge, pancakes, and eggs. A sleeping bag is recommended for colder nights at higher elevations.
This trek is rated moderate and suitable for beginners with good fitness as well as experienced trekkers. Daily walking ranges from 4 to 7 hours, with gradual altitude gain and one longer summit day. No technical climbing skills are required.
