Product Info
- This plan allows you to experience tameshigiri (test cutting) using a standard-length Japanese sword (katana). You can learn the very basics of tameshigiri. The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes.
- Test your skills with a real sword!
- This is an experience where you will actually cut through straw mats (tatami omote) using a Japanese sword (shinken). We provide instruction on how to swing the sword, so anyone, including beginners and those without martial arts experience, regardless of gender, is welcome to participate. *Participants must be junior high school age or older.
- Gradual level-up from the basics
- You will learn how to handle a sword by actually cutting mats with a real blade. There are many variations of cuts, such as kesa-giri (diagonal cut), gyaku-kesa-giri (reverse diagonal cut), suihei-giri (horizontal cut), batto-giri (draw cut), and one-handed cuts. We start with 'kesa-giri' and gradually move on to more advanced techniques.
