Itinerary Attractions:

  • Arashiyama

Located west of downtown Kyoto, Arashiyama has been a popular location for aristocratic villas since the Heian period, and its name frequently appears in historical stories and classical literature. Because the banks of the Katsura River offer vast areas of wild cherry blossoms and maple forests to admire every spring and autumn, it has long been a popular tourist destination. The entire Arashiyama area is centered around the Togetsukyo Bridge, which spans the Katsura River. The bridge was named after a poem by Emperor Kameyama that described it as 'looking like the moon crossing the bridge.' Although Togetsukyo Bridge looks like a wooden bridge, it is actually a modern structure made of reinforced concrete that allows cars to pass over it, with retro wooden railings added to blend in with the surrounding scenery. The section of the Katsura River near Togetsukyo Bridge is also commonly referred to as the Oi River.

In addition to its natural scenery, the Arashiyama area is also home to many famous ancient Japanese temples and shrines, as well as the burial sites of several ancient Japanese emperors, making visiting these temples and shrines a major highlight for tourists. Among the many shrines and temples, the most significant is Tenryu-ji, which is listed as a World Heritage site. Other important historical buildings and attractions include Nonomiya Shrine, which appeared in the Japanese literary masterpiece The Tale of Genji, and Seiryo-ji, which houses national treasure-level Buddhist statues.

  • Kinkaku-ji

'Kinkaku-ji', officially known as Rokuon-ji, is located in an area that was originally the residence of the Saionji family during the Kamakura period. After the fall of the Kamakura Shogunate, Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu acquired the Saionji estate and built his villa in Kitayama in 1397. After the Shogun passed away in 1408, it was converted into a Buddhist temple according to his wishes. The name 'Rokuon' comes from the Shogun's posthumous Buddhist name. It is called 'Kinkaku-ji' (Golden Pavilion Temple) because its main attraction, the Shariden (Reliquary Hall), has an exterior decorated with gold leaf. The Golden Pavilion is the Shariden used to house the Buddha's relics.

  • Kiyomizu-dera

Kiyomizu-dera is a must-visit destination for travelers visiting Kyoto for the first time. This oldest temple in Kyoto was built into the mountainside in 778 and covers a total area of 130,000 square meters. Its mountain name is 'Otowasan,' and it has appeared in Japanese literary works such as The Tale of Genji and The Pillow Book since ancient times. It is even listed as a World Cultural Heritage site. Whether it is spring cherry blossoms, summer waterfalls, autumn maples, or winter snow, it has its own unique beauty, which is why it is always crowded with visitors.

It was founded by Kenshin (later renamed Enchin), a monk from Kosho-ji Temple in Nara. However, due to years of war and disasters, it was damaged and later rebuilt in 1633 by the third Tokugawa Shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, which is the form it exists in today.

  • Hanamikoji

Gion Hanamikoji can be said to be one of the must-visit spots for independent travelers in Kyoto. Hanamikoji became famous after the filming of the well-known movie 'Memoirs of a Geisha.' During the day, tourists can take a leisurely stroll along Hanamikoji, observing the distinctive 'machiya' architecture along the way and feeling the atmosphere of old Kyoto. At night, when the lanterns are lit, Hanamikoji reveals the enchanting and moving side of Kyoto. Most shops have special bamboo blinds on the second floor, and the dim light filtering through the blinds, with the silhouettes of people drinking and having fun inside, makes it even more romantic. Hanamikoji is divided by Shijo-dori, and the atmosphere on the north and south sides is completely different. The north side is mostly pubs and izakayas, while the south side originally belonged to Kennin-ji Temple and now has many teahouses and restaurants.

6. The destinations for the private charter car will be planned and informed by the passenger in advance. Any issues with the route will be coordinated and communicated to you in advance. Passengers are solely responsible for any delays or other problems caused by unclear self-arranged itineraries.

7. If you have a lot of luggage or it is large, we recommend that you book a suitable vehicle to accommodate all passengers and luggage, so as to avoid overcrowding and inconvenience. If the vehicle cannot be driven or other additional costs are incurred due to failure to meet the reasonable number of passengers and luggage capacity of the vehicle, the passengers shall bear the costs themselves.
