Kon-kon-chiki-chin, kon-chiki-chin♪

Along with the Gion Hayashi music, Kyoto in July is completely immersed in the spirit of the Gion Festival.

The Gion Festival has a history of over 1,000 years and is a festival of Yasaka Shrine that takes place over a month, from July 1st (Kippuiri) to July 31st (Ekijinja Natsukoshisai), with a variety of rituals taking place.

The main highlights are the processions of floats on July 17th (the first festival) and July 24th (the second festival).

This time, we're offering a limited number of seats for the pre-festival and post-festival plans, which include a paid viewing seat for the Yamahoko procession and a "selectable take-out drink exchange voucher" that can be used at Fortune Garden Kyoto on the day of the event!

The magnificent and dazzling floats are truly breathtaking!

On July 17th, the pre-festival parade will begin around 9:00 AM with 23 floats, led by the Naginata Hoko float (they are expected to arrive near the paid viewing seats between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM).

On July 24th, the later festival will begin with the Hashi Benkei Yama float leading a procession of 11 floats starting around 9:30 AM (they are expected to arrive near the paid viewing seats between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM).

The shouts and chants from the floats are one of the highlights of watching the festival!
