RISE&WIN Brewing Co. BBQ&General Store, a microbrewery from the zero-waste town of Kamikatsu in Tokushima Prefecture, has opened its first store in Tokyo. The space was designed by Nakamura Hiroshi & NAP Architects, following on from the Kamikatsu store, and features a counter table made from a large tree stump from Kamikatsu, a kitchen with windows made from recycled materials, and interior walls painted with persimmon tannin and red ochre, creating a world view that makes you feel like you're in Kamikatsu's BBQ garden, even while inside the store.
You can enjoy a variety of original craft beers brewed at RISE & WIN in Kamikatsu, including the fruity "Reuven White" made with recycled peels from Kamikatsu's "Yuko" citrus fruit, and the "Porter Stout" made with non-standard Naruto Kintoki potatoes, which are based on the idea of zero waste. The beer is brewed by a skilled craftsman who trained in the United States. You can also buy beer by weight, so you can bring your own bottle and not produce any waste.
