    You'll find an English-speaking tour guide who will give you the tickets to enter the church. You'll have a guided tour within the church with the help of your tour guide.

    You'll be amazed by its luxurious interior, which is covered in genuine gold and embellished with numerous murals and sculptures created by the top local painters of the late 19th century. Furthermore, you'll view the enigmatic Holy Right, a naturally mummified right hand believed to belong to Saint Stephen, the first Hungarian ruler who brought the nation under Christian authority in the eleventh century.

    Finally, you'll take an elevator and continue your tour on your own to the dome's panoramic terrace.

    • Meeting point description: Meet your guide in front of the Basilica Ticket Office. It is on the square, 50 meters to the right from the steps of Saint Stephen's Basilica, next to the Starbucks coffee shop. Your tour guide will hold a sign "GUIDED TOUR". If the line is long at the ticket office, the tour guide will stay a few meters away from the crowd, near Starbucks, so as to be seen better.(Budapest, Szent István tér 2, 1051 Hungary)

    • Please note that on Saturdays, the church is often closed temporarily for 30 to 60 minute periods due to wedding ceremonies

    • Please wear clothes appropriate for a church (no sleeveless tops, short skirts or shorts); men should uncover their heads

    • It is forbidden to eat, drink, or smoke in the church area

    • If the inner church area is temporarily closed because of an unforeseen special ceremony, you may start your visit with the panoramic terrace and the treasury, and return to the church later when it gets reopened

    • To reach the dome panorama terrace there are 2 elevators: a bigger one in the lower part and a smaller one in the upper part of the building; instead of using the second smaller elevator you may climb about 160 steps to reach the top of the dome, in case there are too many people waiting for the elevator
