[Tour Itinerary]
Starting from the Kona area, you travel for about 30 minutes along the lava-formed coastline to the entrance of Mauna Kea. Alternatively, if you start from the Hilo area, you will pass through dense forests and a moon-shaped lava field. Once you enter Saddle Road, which connects the Mauna Loa area and Mauna Kea, you can see dramatic and diverse forms of volcanic vegetation and terrain.
