Day 1: Pokhara → Kalimati (by Jeep/SUV) → Low Camp
Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Pokhara. A private jeep or SUV drives through rural villages and hillside roads to Kalimati, a shorter alternative starting point for the Mardi Himal Trek. This route helps save several hours of walking compared to the traditional Kande trail.
From Kalimati, the trek starts through dense rhododendron and oak forest. The trail gradually climbs past Forest Camp before reaching Low Camp. As the forest begins to open, the first clear views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) appear along the ridge.
Low Camp is one of the most scenic overnight stops, offering peaceful surroundings and panoramic mountain views above the tree line.
Day 2: Low Camp → High Camp
Today’s trail follows the beautiful Mardi Himal ridge toward High Camp. The route passes through Badal Danda, famous for its cloud formations, sunrise views, and dramatic mountain scenery. The landscape changes from forest to open alpine terrain as elevation increases.
From Badal Danda onward, the trail becomes steeper and more exposed. Throughout the day, enjoy close-up views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Mardi Himal.
High Camp is the final settlement before the viewpoint and offers spectacular sunset and nighttime mountain views.
Day 3: High Camp → Upper View Point → Badal Danda
The highlight day begins early in the morning, usually before sunrise. The trail above High Camp is narrow, steep, windy, and exposed, but the Himalayan panorama is unforgettable.
At Upper View Point, enjoy breathtaking sunrise views over Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Mardi Himal. Strong trekkers may continue farther toward Mardi Himal Base Camp depending on weather and fitness.
After returning to High Camp for breakfast, descend along the ridge to Badal Danda for overnight stay. The evening views from Badal Danda are especially beautiful when clouds drift below the ridge.
Day 4: Badal Danda → Siding Village → Pokhara
The final day descends through forest trails, traditional Gurung villages, and terraced farmland toward Siding Village. This quieter descent route offers a more local cultural experience and avoids retracing the same trail.
From Siding, a shared jeep or private SUV returns to Pokhara. Along the drive back, enjoy scenic countryside views and a relaxing end to the trek.l
