The Humble Administrator's Garden is one of the four famous ancient gardens in Suzhou and the largest and most renowned among Suzhou gardens. Listed as a World Cultural Heritage site, it is a classic example of private Chinese gardens. It represents the southern style of gardening, with the entire garden centered around water, surrounded by mountains and streams, exquisite halls and pavilions, and lush greenery. It is full of poetic charm and possesses a rich Jiangnan water town character. The garden is divided into eastern, central, and western sections. The eastern garden is open and spacious, the central garden is the essence of the entire site, and the western garden features exquisite architecture, each with its own unique characteristics. To the south of the garden is the residential area, reflecting the typical multi-courtyard layout of Jiangnan dwellings. The Suzhou Garden Museum, the only specialized garden museum in China, is also located south of the garden. Over the past 1,000 years, the temple has been destroyed by fire five times (some say seven), with the final reconstruction taking place during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty. Historically, Hanshan Temple was one of the ten most famous temples in China.
