Puerto Jiménez: Kayak Sightseeing Tour through the Mangrove Canals｜Costa Rica

Experience a peaceful and authentic adventure in Puerto Jiménez, kayaking through the Preciosa Platanares Wildlife Refuge, where the river meets the sea. We start 1–2 hours before high tide, the perfect time for the water to open a path for us to the deepest channels of the Platanares River Delta.
Accompanied by a local guide, you'll paddle under the canopy of the mangroves and discover why this ecosystem is one of the most productive on the planet. Beyond the wildlife that sometimes peeks out from among the roots, you'll learn about the trees' surprising adaptations to saltwater and the importance of the mangrove to the balance of the gulf.
The tour lasts 3 hours and is designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace: you don't need any prior experience, and we'll give you instructions and the right gear. The activity starts and ends at our base, where you can also relax at Aventuras Café and visit the store with local products.
