Product Info

Day 1: Samarkand or Dushanbe – Artuch Camp – Lake Chukurak

Meet our driver at your hotel in Samarkand or Dushanbe and drive to Artuch Camp. After a delicious lunch made from fresh local products, set off on an acclimatization hike to Lake Chukurak (2455 m). Visit local residents, where they live in temporary shelters and graze livestock. Local people bake delicious milk cakes on a stone according to a traditional recipe. Enjoy a treat with local milk products. Overnight at a tent.

Day 2: Lake Chukurak – Kulikalon Lakes – Bibidzhanat Lake 2800m

Begin the active part of the hike. Ascend along a good path to the Kulikalon lakes. The first days your backpacks will be carried by donkeys, which will facilitate your acclimatization and reduce the load. Your route begins with an ascent along the waterfall and the Khodzharovat and Ruzirovat mountains. On the way up, admire the wonderful panorama of the majestic Kulikalon wall and the surrounding peaks over 4000m (Adamtash, Mirali, Rudaki, etc.). On the way, inspect the Kulikalon Lakes (14 lakes in total) with the purest emerald-blue water. The lake is inhabited with cold water fish Marinka. The trail goes through a picturesque juniper forest. After lunch, take a walk along the lakes of the Kulikalon depression. Set up a camp on the shore of Lake Bibidzhanat. Overnight in tent.

Day 3: Kulikalon lakes - Alaudin Lake

Today ascend Alaudin pass. Trek over Alaudin Pass (3860m) to Alaudin Lake. On the way up, hopefully see vultures and eagles hovering in the blue sky. Enjoy a birds-eye view of Dushaha Lake and the entire Kulikalon Lake system. From the stony pass saddle, take in impressive views eastwards to Chapdara River valley. Left to right, see snow and ice-clad Chapdara Peak (5,050 m), Bodhona Peak (5,138m) and Zamok Peak (5070m), a clear-cut pyramid of Kaznok Peak (4200m) and a “bowing head” of Adamtash Peak (4700m). Down in the valley bottom, see a blue speck of Alauddin Lake (in fact, one of two major lakes) varying in color from lilac to deep turquoise and providing a stunning contrast against the backdrop of the Chimtarga wall. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Alaudin Lake - Samarkand or Dushanbe

After breakfast, transfer back to the Samarkand or Dushanbe.
